Sideline Passes

Fellow Spartans,

In an effort to continue the growth of our Football Players Association and desire to continue to welcome former Spartans back to the University, Coach Dantonio and his administrative Staff have continued a policy for all MSU FPA Members. Effective with our first home game against Youngstown State, all FPA members will be allowed to return to the sidelines of Spartan stadium during the Pre-game activity of the Game. In order to be eligible to come to the sidelines prior to the kick-off, certain procedures have been set into place. They are as follows:

  1. Each player will be allowed ONE (1) sideline pre-game pass for himself ONLY. Any result in trying to pass your pre-game pass to anyone else will result in you no longer having these privileges.
  2. The Sideline Pass is NOT your ticket to admission to the game. You must have purchased a ticket to be able to receive a sideline pass. NO TICKY NO PASS!!
  3. You will be able to gain entrance to the field no sooner than one and one half hour (1 ½) before the announced kickoff time for the game.
  4. In order to receive your sideline pre-game pass, you will have to show a pictured ID.

In order to get your Pre-game sideline pass, you will have to send an email to the MSU FPA web site. Go to the Web Site (www.msufpa.com) and click on “Contact Us”. Fill out your name, email and in message subject, type in “SIDELINE PASS FOR Youngstown State game”, or which ever game you would like a pre-game pass for. In the message body, we will need your name, years that you played and your position. IMPORTANT!!!! You can only send in the email for a given game the week of that game. From Monday at 8am till the cut off time of Thursday at 5 PM. We need time to prepare all the passes for you, so Thursday is the absolute deadline for a game. For those of you who do not have email, please call the Football Office at 800-678-5255 and leave a message for Coach Folino that you need a Pre-Game Sideline Pass for that week’s game.

The logistics for where you will pick up your Pre-Game Sideline Pass is as follows: You are to go to the Recruiting Booth near the North Tunnel entrance. Please have your ticket in hand along with a photo ID.

After you get your Pre Game field Pass, proceed through the gates, through the concourse and into the stands. Walk all the way down to the first row of the  Stands at either end of the field  and show the pass to the field gate attendant. They will let you on the field.. Remember; stand on the home team side line and not in the   TEAMS DESIGNATED AREA. At this point this procedure will be for all home games unless we send out another letter on this subject.

This is an extremely thoughtful gesture on Coach D’s part to continue his efforts in drawing together the former Spartans and helping to grow the MSU FPA and have us as a significant part of our Football Program. As our motto says “You are the Program!” Welcome back and let’s get behind our Coach and Current Spartan Players.

About Us

The MSU Football Players Association (MSUFPA) is an organization that was formed in midyear 2004 and was given its birth by Head Coach John L. Smith. It wasn’t until the beginning of 2005 that the association got functioning, but when it did a strong force was created within the family of Spartans and a tradition had begun. The purpose of the Association is to perpetuate the Spartan football tradition and to enhance the success of the MSU football program. Our goal is to sustain a working relationship and to provide a network of communication to link the membership with the existing football program.
