A Fund for Shaun Mason

Fellow Spartans,

Shaun Mason (OG-#71-1998-99-00 Captain from Toledo, St. John's) recently underwent surgery and experienced complications. He has lost the ability to use his lower extremities. He faces some challenges ahead both physical and financial.

A fund has been established through the MSUFCU called "Shaun Mason - Heart of a Spartan." These funds will help Shaun and his family (Jill his wife, a MSU graduate and former athlete and son Brock) major home modifications, transportation, equipment and physical therapy costs, among all the other items that insurance apparently does not cover.

Donations can be sent to:
MSUFCU
PO Box 1208
East Lansing, MI 48826

Guys this is truly one of the reasons the MSU FPA exists. “Spartans helping Spartans” is our motto. Let’s do what we can for this young man and his family.

About Us

The MSU Football Players Association (MSUFPA) is an organization that was formed in midyear 2004 and was given its birth by Head Coach John L. Smith. It wasn’t until the beginning of 2005 that the association got functioning, but when it did a strong force was created within the family of Spartans and a tradition had begun. The purpose of the Association is to perpetuate the Spartan football tradition and to enhance the success of the MSU football program. Our goal is to sustain a working relationship and to provide a network of communication to link the membership with the existing football program.
