Members of the MSU FPA  and MSU Alumni are planning a Fund Raiser for Aurthur Ray Jr. on the 10th of October in Downtown Chicago. This event will be held at "Hi Tops", formerly the Gin Mill in Downtown Chicago, located at 2462 N. Lincoln Ave.(at Montana). The event will start at 8:00 PM CST.

For those of you who are wondering, MSU can't help with Ray's medical costs, because the cancer hit before he was on scholarship, and this problem is related to the cancer surgery. When an MSU athlete has a medical issue while on scholarship, that athlete's insurance is still used first. If it's exhausted or if he/she has no insurance, MSU's insurance takes over. Unfortunately for Ray, that will not be an option.

The goal of the fund raiser is to secure $15,000.00. At the annual MSU FPA reunion dinner last Friday, the MSU FPA collected $4000.00 for the Ray Family. This amounts to almost 27 % of the fundraising goal.

Members of the Ray Family, MSU FPA members, Players from the Chicago Bears and MSU Dignitaries have been invited to make this a successful event. The cover charge of $50.00 (includes drink package and appetizers) along with many raffel items and gifts to be auctioned off.

Please plan on attending if you are in the area that weekend for our big victory weekend over the Northwestern Wildcats. What we need is a "shout out" to the players in the Chicago area to see if they could come down to the event as "Guest Bartenders". If they are interested in helping out please contact Tom Piette at 630-637-9574. Currently we have 3 former football players who will be able to help out. We need at least 6 to 8. As a guest bartender they will be responsible to socialize with the guests and pour some draft beers.
